“He who walks with the wise grows wise, but a companion of fools suffers harm” (Proverbs 13:20, NIV)
Sometimes, in order to embrace the destiny God has in store, you have to be willing to make some changes in your life. You have to be willing to examine where you are and what you need to move forward. This may mean you need to change some friends that you’re spending time with. Maybe they were fine for a season in your life, but you’ve outgrown them. This is a new season, and in order for you to rise higher, you have to break away from relationships that are limiting you. You have to develop some new friendships with people who are going to pull you up and inspire you to rise higher.
I’ve found if you’re the smartest one in your group, your group is too small. Find people who are smarter than you are, people who will challenge you to stretch to the next level and become everything God’s created you to be. Remember, he who walks with the wise becomes wise. Choose your friends wisely so that you can walk and live in the destiny God has in store for you.

Isaiah 7:9: If you do not stand firm in your faith, you will not stand at all.
Understand this: God will help you in life, but you cast the deciding vote. If you choose to stay focused on negative elements in your life, if you focus on what you can’t do and what you don’t have, then by your own choice, you are agreeing to be defeated. You are conspiring with the enemy by opening the door and allowing destructive thoughts, words, actions, and attitudes to dominate your life.
However, if you’ll get into agreement with God, if you’ll focus on your possibilities, your faith can cause God to show up and work supernaturally in your life. But it’s up to you. It depends on your outlook. Consider this: you are today what you believed about yourself yesterday. And you will be tomorrow what you believe about yourself right now.

Inside GET-THIN: The obesity empire built by Julian and Michael Omidi comes under scrutiny by authorities after five deaths following Lap-Band surgery.

Most were after one thing: Lap-Band weight-loss surgery advertised in the 1-800-GET-THIN marketing campaign that blanketed Southern California freeway billboards and broadcast airwaves. Today, that campaign is nearly dead — most of the billboards have been removed, the catchy jingles lifted from local radio and TV broadcasts.
In December, the Food and Drug Administration warned the clinic and several affiliates that their 1-800-GET-THIN ad campaign was misleading because it did not include adequate warnings about the risks of the surgery. Two months later, Lap-Band makerAllergan Inc. said it would no longer sell the device to any of the clinics tied to 1-800-GET-THIN.
Last month, The Times reported that the Los Angeles Police Department’s Robbery-Homicide unit was investigating the September death of patient Paula Rojeski, 55, of Orange County.
